Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. Another weekend of camping completed and enjoyed. This time we went to my husband's 25th high school reunion and camped. It was so fun. Any misgivings I had about being the uncool girl who married the popular boy were completely wrong, everyone was wonderful! Thank goodness we all grow up...

2. The heat is finally gone and now I can breath and accomplish things. It has rained the last two days and every where you go people are thrilled about it!

3. The 4-H Fair has started (hence the rain) and I look forward to it every year. Something about the animals, the taffy, the grease pole and the rides just gets me....it is summertime.

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. It is hot, super hot, summertime hot...and I love it!
2. We have eaten dinner at our picnic table more in the last month than the entire time we have owned it.
3. Our garden is a jungle of tomato vines and zucchini flowers. I have already run out of ideas on what to make with it all...
4. My drink of choice this summer is sun tea....ice cold.
5. I caught myself thinking about Christmas the other day....
6. I am longing for a boat trip like we used to take when I was a kid.
7. I lifted the skirt on my bathing suit yesterday and got a sunburn on my pasty white thighs....ouch.
8. It was 85 degrees or more everyday this weekend and I baked a pie, a cake and a loaf of zucchini bread, because I wasn't quite hot enough.
9. I have barely knit this summer.
10. We went to a picnic Saturday and laughed in the shade with a beer and our friends...heaven.

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

  1. Birthdays - I am 42 and I still love a fuss for my birthday. The only thing I like more is to make a fuss for someone else.  My baby turns 14 today, but we have been celebrating since Friday. A house full of giggling, sugar charged girls, a quiet day with the cute boyfriend and a movie and a big gathering of family. Tonight her father and I will spoil her with dinner at her favorite restaurant and lots of presents. I wish it was her 1st birthday all over again ♥
  2. Knitting - I have three pregnant people all due about the same time that require a knitted gift. One is a teacher who has made a huge difference in my daughter's life. One is a distant family member that a barely know. The third and final one is another family member, by marriage, that is not my favorite person. I have three projects going and I can't seem to really get into any of them. I hate knitting like this, it just seems a waste.
  3. Biggest Loser - I just finished a 6 week BL contest at work and I lost and gained the same 3 pounds each week. I ended up right where I started. My husband starts one at work next Monday and I am going to try again while he is doing it. It is always easier when he is dieting too, because I don't have to make fattening dinners and desserts. Summer is coming and the prospect of me in shorts is motivational.
Have a great week!!

Miscellany Monday

monday

{1}  Japan – Who can not think about this. The devastation and loss of life terrifies me. I truly can’t even imagine. I just want to hold the ones I love.

{2}  Mud – The mess I see outside seems so much easier to deal with after I see the horrible images on the news.

{3}  Food – I am losing weight and watching what I eat. While I sit and pick over all my options, adding up points in my head I stop and am grateful. What if all I had to eat was dirty and warm and when it was gone I didn’t know where I’d get more.

{4} Dust – I sit and look out my grimy windows with their dusty sills and I know I am blessed.
